I need you.

For an upcoming photo project, I want to talk to friends, acquaintances, total strangers. I want to create photographs based on other people’s wishes, desires, yearnings.

I’m not talking about a raise, or a better car, or getting a dog, or whatever.

I’m talking about the shit that keeps you awake at night.

What weighs on you?

What makes your heart ache?

What do you want, or regret?

What/where/who do you think about constantly?

What would you most like to do, say, see, learn, change, be?

What is it? That fucking thing.

Let’s talk about it. You don’t need to tell me everything explicitly, we don’t have to get that personal. I just need some clues, some descriptors – a sense of whatever it is, that invisible thing that is sitting there on your chest.

From there, I’ll make something. For you. I have no idea what it will look like, but the intention is to create something like a photographic sigil. I want to make something tangible from a deep desire. A wish made visual. (If you have any reservations, never fear – the final photograph won’t be identifiable as having to do with you. Unless together we decide we want it to.)

If something comes of it, I’ll give you a print.
